Ike & Tina Turner performing “Proud Mary” – Video

Ike and Tina Turner performing Proud Mary was their biggest chart success.

www.history-of-rock.com/ike_and_tina_turner.htm. During 1960 and the 1970s, they were the greatest husband and wife soul duo for sixteen years – winning  a Grammy and being inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. They were famous for their wild and entertaining shows – the least of which was Tina’s “hot legs” when she sang and danced using three back up singers, the Inkettes. Few people know that Tina taught Mick Jagger how to dance. www.rockhall.com/inductee/ike-and-tina-turner If you ever watch Ike and Tina Turner performing Proud Mary, you’ll understand why she became Mick’s dance instructor.

By 1978, after 16 years of physical abuse by Ike – exacerbated by cocaine and jealousy, she filed for divorce. The result: Ike kept the money and she kept her own name and some pocket change.  But within six years, she was on her way back to super stardom where she reigns today…the Queen of Soul & Rock N’ Roll. So put a big smile on your face and watch this early rendition of Ike and Tina Turner performing Proud Mary and check out Tina’s “hot legs.” No performer today has moves like Tina Turner. :D

Was it a bird? a plane? No! it was Aretha Franklin’s hat! Video

January 22nd, 2009 AttilaTheHoney Posted in Aretha Franklin, Aretha sang "Let Freedom Ring", Aretha's big ego, Beyonce introduced Tina Turner as "The Queen", Ellen DeGeneres did a spoof on Aretha's hat, The Ellen DeGeners Show, aretha, the rhinestone bow on Aretha's hat looked like helicoper propello blades, tina, tina Turner 209 Comments »

Was it a bird? A Plane? No, it was Aretha Franklin’s hat  which upstaged the singing before Obama’s speech. On Wednesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the talk show host sported an over-the-top hat similar to the one that Aretha Franklin wore to Barack Obama’s historic inauguration. She said, “This would have been so embarrassing. The next thing you know we would have been in US Weekly’s Who Wore it Better?” Degeneres joked, “They said this is the only one they made but I can’t believe it.” So when I say was it a bird? a plane? No! it was Aretha Franklin’s hat – it appears that I’m not the only one who had a giggle!

The hat featured a larger than life rhinestone bow – resembling the propellor blades on a Presidential helicoper. Ms. Aretha isn’t one to take a back seat to anyone – even the President. At the Grammy Awards 2008, when Beyonce introduced Tina Turner (my all time favorite) as “The Queen”, Aretha was seriously “miffed” to put it mildly. Hey that’s show biz folks…in Aretha’s case, she has huge & powerful vocal chords, a huge & powerful body (I wouldn’t want her to sit on me) a huge hat and a HUGE EGO.

So if you want to put a giant smile on your face check out Was it a bird? a plane? No! it was Aretha Franklin’s hat with a larger than life rhinestone bow resembling propellor blades on a Presidential helicoper! And chill out Aretha, it’s not always about you! :D

Evolution of Dance 2 with comic Judson Laipply video

January 13th, 2009 AttilaTheHoney Posted in Hokey Pokey, James Brown to Hip Hop, comic Judson Laipply, current trends, evolution of dance 2, hanging clothes on a clothes line, is Judson Laipply a prophet and a comic?, my brother's kids don't have TV, my brother's kids don't have an X-Box or videos, simplicy of life and love are the greatest gifts of all, sweet smell of fresh sheets, the Beatles, tina Turner, who is the Gen Y generation?, zen sarcasms No Comments »

Evolution of Dance 2 with comic Judson Laipply is proving him to be an entertaining comic as well as a modern day prophet. First of all, he uses dance to present life as it constantly evolves, i.e., what was cool ten minutes ago is archaic today and so not cool. But there’s greatness in every field of art that never goes out of style www.dailycandy.com/subscribe/index.jsp no matter what the current trends may be. If current trends turn you on, then daily candy is the place to look (it doesn’t turn me on and I’m not looking!) The only problem with Gen Y is that they’re a tad clueless on that score. I asked a Gen Y about The Beatles and they thought I was talking about laxatives! Duh! Well, it doesn’t matter because the evolution of Dance 2 with comic Judson Laipply can be their creative instructor ( I could be wrong but I don’t think so.) If you want to read an interesting article on Gen Y check out www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1640395,00.html

Are we morphing into this current world’s persona where nothing is solid – where there’s nothing to hang onto outside of virtual worlds and videos? I like to watch my brother’s kids – right now they’re digging a hole in the backyard to China. They don’t have television, X-Boxes or video games – just their imagination and loving parents with not much money but lots of love. My sister in law hangs the clothes out on a clothesline and whenever I stay over, I can smell the sweet fragrance of fresh air in the sheets. Love and simplicity of living – I think that’s the greatest gift of all (again, I could be wrong but I don’t think so)

So get out there and find something that puts a smile on your face – something that makes your heart tap dance. I think watching the evolution of Dance 2 with comic Judson Laipply should do the trick. :D Just give it a shot!

James Brown and Pavarotti perform “It’s a Man’s World” in Heaven – video

January 12th, 2009 AttilaTheHoney Posted in God needs a good laugh, It's a man's world, James Brown, James Brown and Luciano Pavarotti in concert, James Brown and Pavarotti in concert, James Brown and Pavrotti perform in Heaven, King of Soul and King of Opera, Lard Ass the Nosy, Luciano, Luciano Pavarotti, Pavarotti, Proud Mary, the wildlife love James Brown and Tina Turner, tina Turner No Comments »

James Brown and Pavarotti perform “It’s a Man’s World” in Heaven. Well, I guess if anyone could use a good laugh – it’s God…what with all the fighting, killing, greed and just overall bitching going on -on this planet called earth. However, there’s none of that at this concert – just James Brown and Pavarotti performing,  It’s a Mans World” in Heaven. The King of Soul meets the King of Opera in Heaven and they just sing! sing! sing! It’s obvious they’re having a ball and like each other. I would love to have attended that concert (when they were alive – not in heaven just yet!)

Sometimes,  I go outside and sing along with James B.  -”I Feel Good” and even the horses, deer and wild turkeys look like they’re moving a little differently….Same with Tina Turner and me singing and dancing to “Proud Mary.” On one such inspired day, I felt someone (outside of the animals) staring at me. It was my main squeeze, Lard Ass the Nosy. Well, what the hell, I thought, “Am I having a Kodak moment?” He was just staring at me like I was a candidate for “Ripley’s Believe it or Not”. When our eyes locked, he just shook his head and walked away. Undaunted, I continued my routine. Yep! I’m a star in my own mind.

Find something to put a smile on your face :D I think James Brown and Pavarotti perform “It’s a Man’s World” in Heaven should do the trick.

Beyonce: “Tina Turner is the Queen” – Grammy Awards 2008 – video

January 4th, 2009 AttilaTheHoney Posted in VHI Divas Live Special, a good bitch fight is always a good thing, aretha, aretha demanded respect, aretha franklin porking out, aretha got her butt in the air, beyonce, grammy awards 2008, tina, tina Turner, tina turner is the queen of soul, tina turner looking slim and sounding better than ever, tina turner's big comeback, tina won 2008 grammy for river: the joni letters No Comments »

Beyonce called Tina Turner ” The Queen” at the 2008 Grammy awards – thus invoking the ire of Aretha Franklin. In an interview with VHI’s Divas Live Special, Aretha was asked who her favorite singer was and the Queen of Soul responded, “I am.” So it came as no surprise when she got her butt up in the air when Beyonce referred to Tina Turner as “The Queen” at the 2008 Grammy awards. /singersroom.com/news/entertainment-story-2984.asp.

I love Aretha Franklin but she’s porked out so much that in a good bitch fight with Tina (who is slim and looking fabulous at 68), Aretha WOULD be queen for a day! Tina’s life with Ike Turner was such a nightmare and her struggles to perform as a single act are well known. I’m thrilled to see her making a comeback. She has fans the world over and her moves are the same…those long legs and high heels doin their thing…just taking off and having a life of their own.

So welcome back Tina & for what’s it’s worth Beyonce was right, “You are the Queen!”

Find something to put a smile on your face :D …something to make your heart bounce a little. I think Beyonce saying that Tina Turner is “The Queen” at the Grammy awards 2008 plus Aretha Franklin’s little ego attack should do the trick.

Make it a good one!
