SNL’s Gilda Radner spoof of Barbara Walters (better known as Barbra WaWa) is legendary. Those were the golden years of SNL. Gilda’s many characters live in one’s memory like snow cones on a hot summer day. SNL’s Gilda Rader spoof on Barbara Walters is only one of many of her characters that I’ll be showcasing.
On another note, my hubby and main squeeze – whom I’ve coined today as Lard Ass, God’s answer to Emeril Live – because he’s now found his niche in life – outside of his three Phooey, Dewey and Louie degrees (better know in academia as PHDs) – which is to critique my cooking. Today I finished my work early (like what women do isn’t really work! LOL) and decided to make him pasta Italiano. When finished, I sweetly said, “Honey come to dinner” as the table had candles lit and it looked beautiful. He sat down and glanced at the plate of spaghetti- which I served to him piping hot – and remarked, “Well, my my – let’s see if this passes the Martha Stewart test!” – whereupon he hurled a strand of pasta on the wall…the point being that if it stuck to the wall it was overdone! O M’God give me a break here or pay for a couple of years of therapy !!!!
I said, “Honey just clean your plate cause the dog hates my cooking.” Well no woman ever shot a man doing dishes – surprise surprise…yes he did do the dishes and I WONDER WHY!!!!! . So once I chilled out, I started laughing which is something I’ve learned to do when things land on me that make me want to scream. I turn it around and find something to put a smile on my face
