How a single mom would handle government misbehavior!

tax dollars at workHow a single mom would handle government misbehavior!Oh you mean like the above?www.snopes.com/photos/politics/solitaire.asp Yes folks, that’s a photo taken by Jessica Hill at the Connecticut House of Representatives on 31 August 2009. House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk, on the far right, was delivering a speech on the state budget. This is perfect example of how our tax dollars are not working on our behalf and how seriously our representatives regard spending our money. The photograph was picked up by the AP.  As he spoke, his colleagues, Rep. Barbara Lambert, D-Milford and Rep. Jack F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport, play solitaire. the guy sitting in the row in front of these two is on Facebook and the guy behind Hennessy is checking out the baseball scores.

bubble boy 2Now this is the type situation that single moms have to face on a daily basis. You tell them to do one thing and a button goes off in your head and you know they are doing quite the opposite. For instance, my three boys and myself served 3000 newspapers each week to pay for their private education. Some were motor routes and others were on foot. We were busy doing our foot routes, when one of the kids said, “Mommy, Willie threw his papers in the dumpster!” I quickly went to his section only to find Willie sitting under a tree reading a comic book with his empty paper satchel beside him. I yelled, WILLIE! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING!” Quickly, he said, “Mom it’s not what you think. I was doing my papers when a brilliant light shaped object started circling around my head.” I said, “Oh, now I get it.  Was it like this and did it make a sound like this?” He quickly said, “Mom, that’s exactly it – it was a flying saucer and all of a sudden it.…” I cut him off and said, “It just sucked you right in and threw your papers in the dumpster because of the weight. Right?” He said, “That’s right Mom  – that’s exactly what happened. But they put a stun gun to me so I wouldn’t remember anything when they brought me back. …you know so I couldn’t give away national secrets.”

So you want to know how a single mom would handle government misbehavior? Read on! Although I never weighed more than 120 pounds, at that moment,  I became The Hulk. I grabbed him by his collar, kicked his little butt a couple of times, made him get all the papers out of the dumpster, serve each of them – then made him go home and write a paper about how lying to his mother was a really bad thing to do. I told the Catholic Nun in advance what had happened and she thought it would set a good example for all the other kids if he stood before his class and read the paper.  To say he hated this is the understatement of the universe because at that point in his life – he thought he was “Babe Magnet of the Year.” Might I add – he never pulled that little stunt again!

How a single mom would handle government misbehavior?  This is precisely what I would do with anyone in government who lied, cheated, stole, fornicated on company time  etc- I’d make a little platform that they had to stand on  – either in the House or the Senate. They would have to wear an outfit similar to what they wear in prison and they’d have to tell the public in detail - what they had done and why this was a really bad thing to do to the American people. Oh, and I’d make sure it was televised. Hey! works for me. Now this is a solution that makes me laugh out loud! Doesn’t it put a smile on your face too?
